Wrong way driver causes multiple accidents

Quote:A wrong way driver on Business 80 is being blamed for multiple accidents on Sunday night.

CHP Sergeant Kelly Cardoza says that the 75 year old driver of a white Infinity is believed to have entered the highway at Watt Ave and proceeded to travel southbound on the northbound lanes.

Cardoza explains that during his drive he collided with three vehicles. As a result, three people were transported to a local hospital.

He continued southbound on the highway until crashing his car into the center median near Arden Way.

As the driver continued south on the highway two more drivers were involved in a collsion in their attempt to swerve and avoid the driver of the Infinity.

The traffic backup also resulted in two more vehicles involved in a collsion when they were unable to stop in time behind the slowing traffic.

In total, 7 cars plus the Infinity were involved in a collision.

Cardoza says that the driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI at the scene.
